Resolution Adopted by the CCAR
RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE PARTNERSHIP
BETWEEN THE UAHC, THE HUC-JIR AND THE CCAR.
Adopted at the 106th Annual Convention of the
Central Conference of American Rabbis
March, 1995 / Adar II, 5755
The Union of American Hebrew Congregations, the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion and the Central Conference of American Rabbis were each the creation of Isaac Mayer Wise. Since their beginnings in the 1800's, each institution has uniquely contributed to the growth and strength of Reform Judaism. The Union has nourished our congregations. The College-Institute has educated our rabbis, cantors, educators and Jewish communal workers. The Conference has helped to insure the well-being of the Reform rabbinate. These three institutions of Reform Judaism have toiled together in a sacred partnership.
As the Conference, the Union and the College-Institute each enter into a new era of professional leadership, the Conference expresses its gratitude to those who have guided our Movement's institutions in the past and pray for the success of our new leaders. The CCAR reaffirms its own support for the Union and the College-Institute and recommits itself to this partnership that has made Reform Judaism a strong religious force.
